For this project we converted a 100 year old building formerly used as a stable to a modern one bedroom apartment with heritage features. The size of the block and inner city location provided a few challenges as the building needed major structural work to ensure the integrity of the building which included new footings and ground floor slab as well as underpinning of existing brick footings and new openings for windows as well as inside the building which required new steel beams supporting the existing brick work.
Some of the main features of this project included:
Solid spotted gum flooring
Spotted gum stairs and hand rails
2 bathrooms
Cedar windows
Acrylic rendering to the outside of the building
The restoration of the original upstairs floor structure which was used as a feature ceiling for the living area
Modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and stone bench tops
Air conditioning
Built in wardrobes
